The Caruso Family Charities is dedicated to financially assist families who have a child suffering with cancer, life threatening illnesses, or termainal illness. The financial needs vary from family to family like everyday living expenses, medical bills, rent, groceries and more. Here are some examples of how donations and sponsorships are spent and how they help families:
5-YR-OLD ALIANNA MAESTAS -suffers from Bronchioitis Obliterans. She is on constant oxygen, and desperately needs a lung transplant for both lungs. The chances for getting this transplant are very slim. Baby Alianna is also going blind. Angelina (mother) is having a very hard time meeting monthly living expense. CFC as helped Angelina negotiate with creditors, and has got her caught up on most of her expenses. We continue to help in numerous ways, while the hunt for lung donors continues.
KU FAMILY – immigrants from Thailand, Tee Ku is a beautiful 5 year old suffering from Myeloid Leukemia. To add to the stresses that this family endures her mother Than suffered a stroke. Ta, her father, must now look after both. He does not drive, and therefore takes the bus to all hospital visits, sometimes twice a day. Along with helping with daily living expenses, CFC has purchased a yearly bus pass for Ta, so he can ride the bus, stress free, to visit his family. Tee and Than are doing well, and are on their way to recovering. Ta is so grateful for l we have done.
4-YR-OLD S.J. DRAPEAU was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma in early February. S.J.’s parents, Billie and Samuel were having an incredibly hard time because Samuel was laid off in June and Billie was in severe depression. S.J. was enrolled in home hospice. With monthly bills mounting, the family was fearful of eviction. Their only request was for S. J. to die at home. CFC heard of this story and negotiated with all of Samuels creditors. Bills were paid promptly. S.J. passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in July. The family is so grateful to all f us for making their wish possible.
